Christmas Eve we went to a 3:00pm children's service at the Presbyterian church I went to when I was a child. The children's service is perfect: short, lots of music and the story of Christmas is told with lots of kids dressed up as angels and shepherds, and there's a real Mary and Joseph with a real itty bitty baby Jesus. It was lovely and my parent's neighbor's kids were in the service which was so precious we all had to cry.
The weather was blissfully warm (32 degrees), so husband and I sloshed about before going to church and when we got home, mom whipped up some chili and open faced grilled cheese on English muffins.
We spent the evening wrapping presents, watching the Mormon tabernacle choir (fabulous) and then sister, husband and I stayed up until 2:30am watching home movies. Embarrassing, hilarious and perfect.
